Description

This anatomical model shows the lungs in natural size incl. the root of the lung (hilum).


The model weighs approximately 1.1 kg and the dimensions are 33 x 23 x 31 cm.

The 2 lungs are delivered on a stand.
Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, the model shows the lung surface and none of the lungs can be separated.

The following details are shown:



Deep fissures which divide the lungs into different numbers of lobes
Accurate reproduction of the apex, base, the 2 faces and 2 edges
Realistic reproduction of the surface in grey-red, glossy and with lobules
Realistic representation of the deposition of coal dust in bands (due to the intercostal spaces)
The root of the lung (hilum) with the main bronchus, pulmonary artery, pulmonary veins, nerves, lymphatics and connective tissue around the structures

Clinically speaking

Clinically, the model can be used to understand disorders/diseases, although it is most suitable for studying and admiring the shape and surface of the lungs.
