Description

This detailed model shows the tissue and cells of the kidney distributed over 6 areas, so that all physiologically important structures are seen.


The model weighs approximately 1 kg and the dimensions are 23.5 x 25.5 x 19 cm.

It is delivered on a stand (white plastic sheet).
Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, the model shows tissues and cells distributed over 6 areas/zones, which can be seen by rotating the model. The following is seen:



An area where the entire kidney is seen in longitudinal section with, among other things, cortex, medulla and renal pelvis
An area where the cells of the kidney's cortex and medulla are seen
An area with a focus on the connection of several nephrons to one collecting tube
An area with a focus on blood vessels to and from the nephron (incl. loop of Henle)
An area with a focus on the loop of Henle and the different cell types in the loop
An area with a focus on the most important structures in the kidney body and the cell types

Clinically speaking

Clinically, the model can be used to understand specific medical issues related to the physiology of the kidney. This alludes, for example, to the consequences of a drop in blood pressure which affects the autoregulation of the renal circulation, an effect on the renin-angiotensin system and an increase in the plasma concentration of glucose.



The model can, for example, be used to understand diseases such as glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy and some of the initial symptoms of type 1 diabetes.

If the item is listed as in stock , it is physically located at our address in Frederiksberg and can therefore be shipped or picked up. When ordering, choose what you want.

If you wish to pick up the item, this can often take place immediately after ordering, but must be agreed with us. If you wish to have it shipped , this will be done via Postnord and often the same day the order is received.
