Description

This highly illustrative tabletop model shows the organs of the chest cavity in relation to each other.


It is a SOMSO model. The manufacturer SOMSO is world-renowned for very high quality. The organs are shown in three-quarter natural size and the model therefore does not require that much space. It can be separated into 4 parts.

The dimensions are 26 x 25 x 25 cm (height x width x depth) and it weighs a good 1.5 kg.
Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, the model shows the tracheobronchial system, the heart, the larger vessels, the pulmonary vessels which run into the lung lobes and the diaphragm. The model is dome-shaped, and the majority of the dome is made of transparent plastic that illustrates the lungs with markings of the lung lobes.

Clinically speaking, this model shows nothing pathological (disease-wise) but can be used to describe many different diseases related to the organs in the chest cavity.
