Description

This joint model shows the elbow with muscles and nerves as well as the forearm and hand incl. some of the ligaments of the wrist. The joint model is made in the natural size of the arm, and the dimensions are 47 x 15 x 7.5 cm. It weighs 0.9 kg and is delivered on a removable stand.


An information card is included with a picture of the model, where the anatomical structures of the model are named in Latin.
Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, the model shows part of the upper arm bone (humerus), the coil bone (radius), the elbow bone (ulna) and the hand (manus). In the development of the model, the bone tissue has not been in focus, and therefore it is not suitable for seeing "osseous landmarks" such as knots and depressions.



Furthermore, the model includes the following soft parts:



Parts of muscles in the upper arm: m. biceps brachii and m. brachialis
Muscles of the forearm: m. flexor carpi radialis, m. pronator teres, m. extensor carpi radialis longus and m. extensor carpi radialis brevis
Nerves: median nerve, ulnar nerve and radial nerve
Ligaments in the wrist: equal. radiocarpal palmare, equal. ulnocarpal palmare and retinaculum flexorum
Movement-wise

In terms of movement, the joint model is not flexible and therefore cannot be used to demonstrate movements in the various joints. The model cannot be separated either.
Clinically speaking

Clinically, this model is ideal for understanding tennis and golf elbow as well as nerve damage.

The model can of course also be used to understand many other disorders such as fractures, dislocations, sprains and osteoarthritis.
