Description
This model shows the 3 small bones of the middle ear molded after the bones of the human ear.
The height of the model is 2 cm and the diameter is 5.7 cm. The 3 bones are produced in life size and are supplied individually represented in a transparent acrylic plate (embedded).
Anatomically speaking the model shows a precise representation of the 3 small bones of the middle ear (ossicula auditus), each of which is called the hammer (malleus), the anvil (incus) and the stirrup (stapes).
Clinically speaking can the model be used to understand disease such as damage to the bones and treatment such as inserting an artificial ear bone (titanium prosthesis).
