Description

If you are looking for an enlarged and educational kidney model that shows both the inside of the kidney as well as the nephron and the kidney body in detail, this model is ideal.


The entire model weighs 2.55 kg and measures 29 x 52 x 9 cm. The longitudinal section of the kidney is shown at 3 times normal size, the nephron at 120 times normal size and the renal body at 700 times normal size compared to a kidney in an adult person. It is all delivered together on a white stand (plastic sheet).
Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, all the major structures of the kidney are shown.



On the model, which shows the entire kidney in longitudinal section, you can see the "renal stalk" with blood vessels to and from the kidney and the renal pelvis. The beginning of the ureter is also included. In the longitudinal section, structures such as the cortex, the medulla in the form of pyramids, blood vessels and the entire renal pelvis can be seen. Furthermore, a nephron incl. collection tubes located in the pith and bark, so that, among other things, can see that the renal corpuscle "lies in" the renal cortex.



The model of the nephron shows the connection between collecting ducts and nephrons in detail, as well as their location in the medulla and cortex. Furthermore, the renal perfusion is seen in detail (in the marrow and cortex).



The model of the kidney body (corpusculum renis) also shows a lot of details - for example capillaries, Bowman's capsule, the vascular pole with both arterioles, the urinary pole and podocytes.

Clinically speaking

Clinically, the model is ideal for understanding specific medical issues related to the physiology of the kidney. These are, for example, glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy and the use of diuretics ("diuretic" drugs).



The kidney model can also be used to understand disorders and diseases such as kidney failure, other inflammatory conditions, kidney stones, hydronephrosis and kidney tumors.

If the item is listed as in stock , it is physically located at our address in Frederiksberg and can therefore be shipped or picked up. When ordering, choose what you want.

If you wish to pick up the item, this can often take place immediately after ordering, but must be agreed with us. If you wish to have it shipped , this will be done via Postnord and often the same day the order is received.
