Description

If you are looking for a model that shows the anatomical changes in hallux valgus (big toe bunion), this model is our absolute best candidate.


The model was developed in collaboration with Dr. Urs Schneider and produced in SOMSO plastic by the manufacturer SOMSO, which is world-renowned for very high quality. This means quality materials, a sense of accuracy and longevity.


The model is produced in natural size. It weighs 0.43 kg and the dimensions are

10 x 25 x 13 cm (length x width x height).
Anatomically speaking

Anatomically, important tissues such as bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons and skin are illustrated. Furthermore, the foot model illustrates the pathological anatomy that is characteristic of hallux valgus.



It includes i.a. abduction of the 1st metatarsal bone as well as adduction and pronation of the base of the 1st toe. The model also allows for an understanding of the effect of the muscle pull.
Movement-wise

In terms of movement, the model is not flexible. The model cannot be used to demonstrate movements in the joints of the foot.
Clinically speaking

Clinically, this model is ideal for understanding the anatomical changes in hallux valgus. As the model illustrates many different tissues, it can also be used to understand many other foot disorders.
