Description

This special joint model shows the shoulder and associated bursae, the joint capsule (capsula articularis), ligaments and the long biceps tendon from m. biceps brachii.

It is produced in SOMSO plastic by the manufacturer SOMSO, which is world-renowned for very high quality. It is made in the natural size of the shoulder, and the dimensions are 19 x 19 x 23 cm.

It weighs 0.5 kg and is delivered on a stand with a green base.

Anatomically speaking

Anatomically speaking, the shoulder model shows part of the humerus, shoulder blade and clavicle - therefore also the shoulder joint and the acromioclavicular joint. The bone structure is very realistic.

Furthermore, the model shows the ligaments, the joint capsule, the long biceps tendon (from the long "bicep head") and bursae in the region.

Movement-wise

In terms of movement, the joint model is not flexible and therefore cannot be used to demonstrate the various shoulder movements. The shoulder model cannot be separated either.

Clinically speaking

Clinically speaking, this model is ideal for understanding bursitis, biceps tendinitis as well as both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

The shoulder model can also be used to understand disorders such as frozen shoulder, shoulder instability or the insertion of alloplasty. It can of course also be used to understand sprains, dislocations and fractures in the region.

The model may possibly also used to understand disorders such as impingement syndrome and rotator cuff injury. If this is the purpose, we would instead recommend our flexible shoulder model with muscles.
