Description

If you are looking for a foot model targeted at the disorder heel spur (plantar fasciitis), this model is ideal.

The model is produced in natural size. It weighs 0.4 kg and measures 22.9 x 7 x 10 cm

(length x width x height). It is delivered on a stand.

An information card with a picture of the model is included, where the anatomical structures of the model are named in English.

Anatomically speaking

Anatomically speaking, the foot model shows a bit of the shin bone (tibia), a bit of the calf bone (fibula) and the entire foot (pedis) with its 26 bones. In the development of the model, the bone tissue has not been in focus, and therefore it is not suitable for seeing "osseous landmarks" such as knots and depressions.

The aponeurosis plantaris (also called fascia plantaris/hock tendon), a number of important ligaments at the ankle joint and the Achilles tendon can also be seen.

In the sole of the foot (planta pedis), only the aponeurosis plantaris is seen attached to the bones of the foot. No muscles, ligaments or anything else is visible. Therefore, the aponeurosis in particular is the focus of the model.

Movement-wise

In terms of movement, the model is not flexible. The model cannot be used to demonstrate movements in the joints of the foot.

Clinically speaking

Clinically, this model is ideal for understanding the disorder heel spur/plantar fasciitis.

The model can also be used to understand many other disorders, such as Achilles tendon rupture, dislocations (joint slips), many types of ankle fractures, metatarsal fractures, toe fractures and foot deformities such as flat feet, club feet, metatarsus varus, hallux valgus (big toe bunion), hallux rigidus and hammer toe. .

The model can perhaps also be used to understand disorders such as osteoarthritis in the foot (arthrosis) and rheumatoid arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis).
