The poster contains easy-to-understand drawings and text about how type 1 diabetes affects insulin production in the pancreas and how it affects glucose and energy in the body. A comparison between a normal cell and a diabetic cell is also shown, as well as the differences in the ability to convert glucose from food into energy.
Furthermore, the poster describes the importance of controlling glucose levels in the blood and provides advice for effective control of the disease. There are also summaries of symptoms of hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia and ketoacidosis. Finally, the long-term complications that the disease can cause are described.
The poster is the 3rd and thus newest version of the poster 'Understanding Type 1 Diabetes', which has been updated with additional content and new illustrations.
This poster measures 51 x 66 cm and comes with ring holes for hanging.
